Final Assessment

Participation: I think that this semester during active learning, I have participated in every activity, whether I was injured, or sick. I was always trying my hardest to do what I could to get my exercise in no matter what the situation was, and this involved things like modifications to exercises. I never gave up on any exercises, or just sat there in the corner while everybody was having a blast while playing dodge ball. I was always participating in every activity to get in some exercise, even if it wasn't my 100%. In this category, I think I deserve a 22/25.

Social Responsibility and Contribution to the Class: During P.E, I have been quite social with everybody, and helping people get into the game. I was always talking to my team about strategies and just trying to make things fun. I have been respectful to all of my peers, and I have listened to everyone's ideas without interrupting or making rude comments. I have also shared some of my ideas with the people that would be doing the same activity as me on "choice" days. I have tried to create new ideas to make things fun and competitive. In this category, I believe that I should get a 20/25.

Healthy Living: The eating I have been doing isn't bad, like junk food candy, but it isn't really anything great. Although, I do stay away from things like McDonald's and fast food restaurants like that. I have been going outside a lot and playing sports like soccer with both my old friends and cousins, and a lot of the time we'll just bike up to the Subway that is by YMCA, rather than the one across the street from Esso. My physical activity is pretty good outside of school, but my eating isn't the worst, but it also isn't really the best. I'm think that a reasonable mark for this category would be 20/25.

Digital Portfolio and Reflective Skills: I take a look at my blog sometimes and realize how terrible it is compared to the other well managed blogs in my class. Although I have very few blogs, I think that the quality of each blog was pretty good. I do realize that the amount of blogs I post have a pretty massive impact on my grade, and I also realize that I didn't do good on this part of active learning, I actually did extremely bad. Not very much thinking was required for me to decide that I am going to give myself a 5/25.

  1. Rajan your final is a great example of your year as a whole. You are a nice guy (and participated pretty well in class as you say above) but you did not engage in the spirit of "learning" required in this class at all. Have a look at your peers finals (like Hemat, Puneet, Neeha, Katrina etc). Your final is done quickly and pretty much completely superficial … with little more than what you already knew included. As we have said all year… one the major differences in PE 10 is the academic piece. You were to consider personal goals, research how to change your workouts/diet to achieve these goals, and track them throughout the year. Active Living requires a HUGE amount of effort, reading, and writing in the blog. I am glad you bike to subway BUT you haven't completed any of the 25% of the pillar. So if you remove that mark you have 42% by your own count. I have you at 42/50 for class effort and responsibility, and 10/50 for AL and Blog. Despite not engaging in nearly half of the class requirement I don't think you deserve to fail. So to split the difference between 42 and 67 leaves you at 57%. I think this is more than fair. I enjoyed having you in class but I hope next year you start to see the need for your to treat PE as something worth working on too. Have a good summer.
